Now, some might fault me for betting the turn so aggressively, but when I’m heads up against one random Party Poker monkey who raised in front of me, I’m not too worried that he has spades. Perhaps I should have bet more on the flop to discourage a flush draw…….or a QUAD draw. When someone puts a beat on me like this one – and this is probably the wildest one I’ve ever experienced in my poker career to date – I don’t even get mad or throw things. I just laugh and sign up for another tourney.

Oh, and how thoughtless of me: belated congratulations are due to my boyfriend Chris who finished in the money at the PPM4. Great job, baby!

I played a small buy-in Omaha/8 tourney today, inspired by a lecture that Mark Tenner gave on the cruise providing some basic Omaha tips. I built up a nice stack and then entered the land of no playable hands for several levels, chopping away at my stack in the mean time. I doubled up a few times and rocked the short stack on the bubble. Somehow I made it to the money, tripled up, and scored a 12th place finish out of a field of 300. In my first O/8 tourney!

I apologize for the utter lack of hand analysis in this post, but I haven’t figured out how to copy hand histories from UB…and also I’m not sure which hands are even remarkable enough to post. Suggestions for posting O/8 hands?

When I got back from the cruise, I was craving SnG action! I’d thought I might feel like taking a break from poker, but in fact being restricted to limit hold ‘em for a week left a void in me apparently. I was at the keyboard within fifteen minutes of getting back to the apartment. Is this an addiction? You tell me.

Finished in the money in every SnG I played today. Viva la online poker.
