Although I lived the first 25 years of my life less than an hour away from the Canadian border, I have never visited that fine country. Until this weekend, the same was true of my new northern neighbor, Andorra. Well, no more. This weekend we hopped in the ol’ family truckster and drove across the border into the land of mountains, valleys, and private banking.

Smell that fresh mountain air

I knew sitting was bad, but I didn’t know that every time I sat down a terrifying shadow beast creeps up behind me. I guess that’s because when I turn around, I am doing a small bit of exercise, which reduces the time that I’m just sitting. Hence the lack of shadow beasts when I look behind me.

For my birthday, we went to see this amazing display of horsemanship, called Apassionata. Although some of the acts were a bit circus-like for my taste, the respect and joy between horses and trainers was clear throughout the show.
