Adventures in Home Gaming

It feels like it’s been so long since I started playing poker, even though I’ve really only been playing for about two years. Tonight I felt my poker “age” when I went to a home game where many of the players were fairly new to poker. They were calling the game Texas Hold ‘Em, but it quickly became clear that they were unfamiliar with the betting structure and the blinds. It was fun teaching them and watching some of the truly atrocious play – which is actually very difficult to play against, of course.

A nice break from internet play, and a step toward fulfilling one of my poker New Year’s resolutions! Plus I met some fun new people. A successful evening, I’d say. I am still in the market for a more serious home game, so if any of you NYC players out there know of one, let me know! Unless you’re scared to let me in….j/k

Hey Jodi,

One of my good friends runs a game here in Philly—he is moving to NY in a few months to start a fellowship. If you haven’t found anything, let me know. At least down here, it is a mix of limit and NL tourneys.

Gabe
