A recent NYT article gives a shoutout to Barcelona’s Bicing program (of which Oscar and I are members). It also gives a reasonable summary of the program’s hiccups, which are more than a little bit exasperating. Still, when it works it’s a really neat system. I can’t say that it has reduced our dependence on the car (which we only use for excursions outside the city) but it has definitely saved us many trips into the stuffy subway tunnels.
