Jo(di) vs. the Volcano

In my second consecutive volcano pun post (see Eyjafjallajökull to mankind: “Kiss my ash”, 18 April 2010), I have to express some true concern about my upcoming travel plans to Andy and Maureen’s wedding. It all depends on which way the wind blows.

The NY Times has a nice graphic of ash cloud movements, and they update airport closings regularly on the same page. We’re keeping an eye on it. I’d be interested in any Eyjafjallajökull iPhone/iPad apps – does anyone know of one?

Dear Volcano,

Listen up – you’ve had your fun, but it’s been a month already. Don’t you think it’s time to give it a rest? Or at least take a break for a little while? People have places to go and things to do. And really, I can’t very well get married without my whole family around, which clearly now includes Jodi and Oscar, so think about giving them a break and letting them pop over to the states for a nice visit. I promise to post pictures on your volcano facebook wall so you don’t miss out on the fun. Thanks a bunch, hot stuff.

Love,
Maureen
